Cisco provides excellent VPN router options. These routers allow you to connect multiple networks to your On-Air studios. This is a great choice for groups who have different locations for their studios, but want a seamless connection between all their studios.

This option is offered direct through Arrakis Systems.

Contact sales@arrakis-systems.com for more information.

Cost: Gateway to Gateway Host - $1,200 Client - $800 each DYN DNS acct - Yearly $20*

With the Gateway to Gateway option, you are using 2 VPN routers to connect 2 networks. This option gives you complete control from the 2 locations. You can have multiple clients connected to your host (studio), but are charged for each client (remote) connection.

The only drawback is that you may only connect at either a host or client site. You cannot use an Internet access outside of the client or host network to access your studio.

Feature Descriptions

Remote On-Air Control

This gives the user the ability to comprehensively control their computer. From starting and stopping the automation playlist, to playing hot keys. You will see what is seen from the On-Air screen on your PC, and literally control it as though you were there. This can be very beneficial for loading emergency announcements, or even checking the status of your On-Air computer. This can also be very effective for remotes, such as ball games.

Remote Voice Track

This allows the user to create voice tracks within the automation software as though they are in their On-Air or production studio. This also means you can have a remote DJ login and create voice tracks for your station.

Remote Library Management

With this feature, you may manage your audio library. This means you can add audio files, alter the appended information and much more.

Remote Scheduling

This feature enables you the ability to make changes to your schedule on the fly. Whether you swap out a spot, or move some songs around. You have complete access to your schedules.

Remote Reports

This function gives you the ability to view and manage your reports. From checking your spot log, to the status of the On-Air.

Remote Production

Remote Production gives you the ability to produce files from a remote location, and then send them to the On-Air system for later playback.

Remote Access Anywhere

This means you can access the On-Air studios from anywhere you have an Internet connection. This could be your smart phone, tablet, laptop... anything with the ability to go to the Internet.

Windows Tablet Accessible

With this option, you can access your On-Air studios from a Windows tablet that has Windows 8 Pro.

Android & iOS Tablet Accessible

This feature means that you can access the On-Air studios remotely using the Android or iOS operating systems on a tablet.

Auto Backup

This function is only available on the Windows Remote Access Server option. The server will have the ability to comprehensively backup your On-Air studios' hard drives & OS. This scheduled task is very effective for a complete backup of your On-Air studios. Although, this may be handled by other 3rd party auto-backup options as well.

Performance

As with any Remote Access software, the number one variable for performance is the Internet speed at both the On-Air studios, and the remote location. Minimum speeds of 1 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload are required at both the On-Air and remote locations. At this speed, it may perform with some amount of lag. It is recommended to have at least 3 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speed for a comfortable performance. The faster these speeds, the better. Whatever number is the smallest at either location, will be the bottleneck speed that may inhibit performance. Other variables such as user load may effect your performance as well. If you have any questions or concerns about your ISP speed, please email sales@arrakis-systems.com for a speed evaluation.
